NEW PIONEER DRUM MAJOR ANNOUNCED PDF Print E-mail

OUR NEW DRUM MAJOR IS:

Our new Drum Major is Ryan Davis from Tallahassee, Florida.

After two months of interviews and information gathering,  Ryan was chosen  to join  Pioneer Veterans Jackie Bilder and Jalissa Bishop as the corps’ leaders.

Ryan was chosen from a list of four finalists, all who volunteered to take on the heavy responsibilities that the position entails. Ryan (Tuba), Tom Brankin (Pit), Tim Byrnes (Mellophone), and Katy McBenge (Mellophone) have a lot in common. Besides all being Pioneer veterans, they all were section leaders/drum majors in high school and are currently attending college. They all perform in several school related musical offerings.  One other great thing to note is that both Tim Byrnes and Ryan Davis have achieved the highest ranking possible in the Boy Scouts of America, that of earning the title of Eagle Scout. With such talented candidates to choose from, the best winner out of the entire process is the corps itself.   Thank you to Tim, Tom and Katy, and congratulations to Ryan.

SOPYS ARE COMING IN:

SOPY donations have come to the corps on behalf of Jeremy McLeod, Shennie Barroso, and Charles Mitchell.  Surprisingly more have not arrived yet, considering that the holidays are past and our first payment of dues ($300.) is due at this camp!

ATTENDANCE:

Attendance for the January Camp is CRITICAL!  Coming to this camp is particularly important, considering that there will be no February camp, and the fact that there will be new music to be learned with the addition of several new people coming.  Regular attendance is not an option, but rather an absolutely mandatory commitment   in order that your Pioneer Corps, a DCI World Class Corps, stays true to its goals and objectives to be truly Better Every Day in quality performance and entertaining excellence.
