FOCUS ON PRIORITIES:
I understand that with Christmas holiday coming soon, with family matters building up, school winding down, and of course the winter season all need to be dealt with. So it is important to plan now and stay focused on being prompt by coming to camp on time this Friday night at 8:00 pm Central Time.
To our new recruits, welcome to Pioneer! We want you to feel both needed and appreciated.
Returning veterans should be the first to meet and greet new people. Wear your old name shirt and show that you made it through a lot of hard work during the many rehearsals. Learn each other’s names and create new friendships in our Pioneer Family!
It is going to be exciting playing for the very first time the 2017 Opener of our Irish Go Broadway production.

NEW TOUR DIRECTOR: SCOTT BENNETT
Mr. Bennett will be available for any questions or concerns that you might have. So take some time to meet him, introduce yourself, etc. He is a person with a lot of class having many years of experience in the marching world. He will, as he was last year, also be part of the color guard teaching staff. As you can see, Scott Bennett’s role in our Pioneer Corps Family is expanding. Thank you Scott!
Several people have been asking us if we will be practicing OUTDOORS for camp. The answer is definitely NO! All rehearsals, sleeping (your sleeping bags, air mattresses, hammocks, or?), and eating will take place in the warm confines of Cudahy Middle School!
Bring your own MOUTHPIECES, WHITE GLOVES
Bring your own STICKS
If you wish you can bring your own Flag or Weapon of your own.
Rehearsal clothing should be comfortable such as sweat pants shorts, and NO JEANS. Jeans are not only uncomfortable during marching rehearsal but they can also cause painful chaffing.
Yes, for the past 55 years your corps family has attended church on Sunday and will continue to do so. We show Pioneer “Class” by dressing appropriately. Guys, a nice pair of slacks and a dress shirt would be good. Ladies, a nice outfit would be great.
ATTENTION TEAM SOUTH!
The temperature will not be 80 degrees here! Expect cold fresh air here. Bring a nice warm jacket with you that you can wear when we go to church or when you travel to and from the airports, train depots, etc. Having a sweat shirt will also be a great thing for you to bring along.
WHO ARE YOU BRINGING WITH YOU!
Are you bringing a new Pioneer Prospect with you? We sure hope that you do! Be sure that they put your name down on the Information Form as the person who has recruited them as well as guiding them. Then when they join, you will benefit for making the effort!
BEING PART OF A 75 – 100 MEMBER FAMILY!
If you have never experienced being a family member with 100 brothers and sisters who, like you, are extraordinary human beings, you are in for an exciting treat! If you are not already being, “B.E.D.” (If you don’t know what that means, ask a vet!) this will become a life-changer for you!
PREPARE – PREPARE – PREPARE
To have a
FUN – FILLED – WEEKEND!
