Caption Head - Ja'Malh Wallace
Returning to Pioneer for a fourth season, Ja'malh has been a performer and artist for over 17 years; his background includes theater, voice, dance, improvisation, and the marching arts. As a marching arts entertainer, he performed with Onyx in 2008, 2012-2016. As marching arts instructor and choreographer, Ja'Malh has worked with groups in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Texas.
Staff - Kelsey Arnony
From Plainfield, Illinois, Kelsey is super excited for round 3 of teaching the Pioneer Color Guard! This will mark her 8th season being with Pioneer. She performed as a member of the Pioneer color guard from 2011- 2015 and she served as the Guard Sergeant for 3 years. Her marching credits also include; Independence Winter Guard (2013) and NEXUS Indoor Percussion (2014). Her teaching experiences includes; Providence Catholic HS, Plainfield Central HS, and Minooka Community HS Color Guards.
Staff - Chelsie Brewer
Chelsie has been part of the performing arts for 21 years through music, dance, theatre, improvisation, singing and sport of the arts-color guard. She has performed with different color guard groups from high school to world class. Her World Class credits include; Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps (2008 and 2010) and Onyx World Winter Guard (2012 and 2017). Teaching dance for 10 years, Chelsie places a high focus on dance and flag when teaching students. She has worked with are several high schools from Missouri, Illinois and Indiana as well as Stonewall Independent and George Mason University from Virginia.

In the real world, she loves spending time with her family and dog, Dozer. Chelsie also enjoys playing piano, painting, hanging upside down from silks (Aerial), and working on her fitness. Her full-time career is being a veterinary technician; helping to rehabilitate animals in need through laser therapy, under water treadmill, acupuncture and much more.

Chelsie is very excited to work with Pioneer in this upcoming season. She says, "I am very honored to be a part of such a hard working group and am delighted to begin this journey with Pioneer Color Guard".
Staff - Alex Washington
Alex has been performing for 14 years and teaching colorguard and dance for 10 years. His arts experience includes theatre and singing. He went to high school in Ashdown, AR. and started his colorguard performance career with the Purple Pride Marching Band. He went on to spin with the University of Central Arkansas Bear Marching Band Colorguard (2007-11) and performed with their winterguard (2008 and 2010). In 2009, he was given the opportunity to perform with the Madison Scouts.

Alex has been the Colorguard Director for the Paragould Pride Marching Band for 7 years. He also works with several other guards in Arkansas and Tennessee. In addition, he is one of the many great guard instructors on staff for Frontlines Camp held in Walnut Ridge, AR.

Alex says, "I am super excited to be on staff with Pioneer. I can't wait to get started with the season and not only teach some great students, but to also learn a lot from the students and fellow staff members."
Staff - Jonathen Tyrrell
Jon found his passion for color guard as a freshman at Stone Wall Jackson High School. He has been taught by some of the best and most talented people in the activity and always enjoys passing on the knowledge that he has received. His marching experience includes Creation Independent (2009 and 2010), O2 World (2011), and Onyx World (2012, 2013, and 2017).

As an instructor, in Virginia, he worked with Faquier High School, Herndon High School, and Stone wall Independent. Since moving to Missouri, he has worked with Ofallon, Rockwood Summit and Oakville high schools. His speciality is weapon and rifle is by far his favorite piece of equipment.

Jon says, "This journey with Pioneer is going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see what happens this summer. Much love and see you all soon!"
Staff - Jonathan Gillman
Jonathan grew up in Hillsboro, Ohio where upon graduation in 2012, relocated to Dayton, Ohio to attend Wright State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in psychology. His performance experience includes O2 Winter Guard, Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, Onyx Winter Guard, and the Pride of Cincinnati Winter Guard.

He is going into his sixth year as the color guard director at Carroll High School and third year at Beavercreek High School where both programs continue to grow. Jonathan has also worked with various scholastic and independent programs such as William Mason HS, Miamisburg HS, Plymouth-Canton HS, Lebanon HS, Walled Lake HS, and O2 & O3 Winter Guards.

Outside of color guard, Jonathan is a licensed substitute teacher in the Dayton, Ohio area with the goal of pursuing his Master's degree in counseling.
