Joshua Pier

Caption Head

Joshua Pier has been involved in the marching music activity for over 17 years. He began playing the tuba in high school which led him to perform with the Pasadena City College Honor Band in the Rose Parade from 2000 to 2002. He then went on to march with the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2004 to 2006.

Since then, Joshua has worked with many different organizations as a Visual Tech and Visual Caption Head. He is currently the Visual Caption Head at El Dorado, La Mirada, and La Serna High School, and designs the drill for La Mirada and La Serna High School. He is also a visual tech for Crescenta Valley High School and Trabuco Hills High School, who was just named Champion at the WBA Grand Championships in Fresno, CA.

Joshua also works with the indoor percussion ensembles at La Serna High School and Rancho Starbuck Intermediate School as a show designer, and will be the show designer for the La Mirada High School Winterguard.

In the Drum Corps world, Joshua was a Visual Tech for the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets in 2009 before moving on to work with Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps from 2010 to 2012.

This is Joshua's 8th season with Pioneer and fourth as Visual Caption Head.
