Visual Technician - Kevin Kurtz
I was born and raised in South Dakota. I attended South Dakota State University for Music Education. During my time at SDSU I taught at a local high school where I worked primarily with the percussion section and founded the first competitive high school drumline program in the state. I am now in my first year of teaching. I have the head director position in my hometown where I teach 4th-12th instrumental music in my hometown, Parkston, SD.

In 2014 I aged out with Pioneer in the front ensemble. In 2016, I was asked to be an intern for the corps and was able to showcase my knowledge and work ethic with the visual staff members. Fortunately enough, that earned me a position on the visual staff for the summer of 2017. I am excited to come back to the corps that has given me the opportunity to grow as a musician and performer and I am ready to give the new and returning members the same experience.
