Merry Christmas to Everyone!

From The Top

It is that time of the year to wish everyone you know a joyous, pleasant, and hearty “Thank You” for being part of your life’s experiences this past year. Pioneer Corps also has a large list that is too numerous to mention everyone, but I would like to give a special mention to Bill Strube, Ron Ruggles, Tim Osterbeck, Lisa Savage, Dr. Cecil Austin, Murray Davis, and Roman Blenski for their efforts in dealing with Drum Corps International. While no additional information has yet been determined, it will be coming at the DCI Annual Convention in January in Indianapolis, IN. No doubt that this has become a gut-wrenching experience these past 4 months…... But rest assured that Pioneer will continue to serve youth many more years in addition to the previous 58. This holiday season, everyone should demonstrate “Class” and don’t forget to be, “Better Every Day”!

ST. PATRICK’S PARADE

We want to gather up as many available members, alumni, or support people who want to keep the Corps’ tradition alive on either March 10th or 17th by marching for a St. Patrick’s celebration in Milwaukee or Chicago’s Southside parade. We could march in our usual triangular formation or else play on the long trailer that was used by the Midwest Legends Corps while sitting and playing, “Garry Owen and Stars and Stripes” as we are pulled down the street. We not only will keep the tradition alive, but also once again be with members of our Pioneer Family, make some money for the corps, and experience the feeling of being “Irish”. The music can be sent to you ahead of time and we would meet for a quick uniform fitting. Perhaps we could have a social gathering afterwards…

If you are interested in participating, please complete the St. Patrick's Day Parade Application Form to sign up.  More information to follow.  Start practicing!

bingo

The donation proceeds coming in from Bingo have been steady; not up to the pre-non-smoking days, but we have been getting a consistent crowd attending every Saturday evening at the United Senior Center in Greenfield, WI, as well as most Wednesday evenings at the St. Francis Lions’ Community Center in St. Francis, WI. Roman, Sue, and Murray are at most of these events. Come on down! Help us out, play some games, or just say “hi” and keep up on the latest happenings!
